The road that never seemed to end

Since you can't sleep in even if you're on vacation, Chris woke up early and took a little walk around the motel. He got to see a helicopter carrying stuff (including a worker) across the highway. The rest of us stumbled out of bed a bit later and sadly left our little caboose.

Since it was Father's Day, we decided to have breakfast at a cute little restaurant in Mt. Shasta. It was good, but started our day off a little too slowly. Then we picked up a little something special for Chris at a truck stop in Oregon. You really can't find good quality tchotchkies like this at home...
The excitement was definitely wearing thin today as our trip seemed to drag on forever. We made countless stops and finally pulled in to Seattle two and a half hours behind schedule. Poor Frankie had a rough time for those last 5 miles, but she really did well otherwise. We rewarded everyone with a well deserved swim at 9:30 at night. I'm sure everyone thought we were crazy taking little kids swiming at that hour, but they were so wound up we figured it was the only way we'd get them to sleep. It was wonderful and now they're all soundly snoozing. We're at a Westin and their thing is their "Heavenly" beds, including Frankie's crib. It's very cute with clouds and even a matching rug. They said they even have "Heavenly" pet beds! Posted by Picasa
